The European Social Catalyst Fund (ESCF) is hosting an online event ‘Scaling Proven Innovations to Overcome Europe’s Challenges’, from 10.30 – 12.30 CET on Monday 13 December 2021.
About the Event
This webinar will give you a brief insight into how successful innovations can be scaled and what has been learned this year about the challenges of bringing innovations to larger populations who can benefit within countries and across borders.
A lot has been invested in the development of solutions to solve the many social problems facing our countries. Some solutions have been developed and tested and are now shown to have the potential to either solve problems or significantly overcome challenges. But how can these solutions be scaled within and across our countries, where operational and cultural environments vary? To answer this question, the European Social Catalyst Fund (ESCF) was established and co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, Genio (Ireland), the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany) and the King Baudouin Foundation (Belgium).
This phase of the ESCF brings together the EU and philanthropy to provide financial and non-financial support for 7 proven innovations to plan how they can scale in a total of 16 countries. These innovations were selected from amongst 120 applications received from 22 countries. They tackle complex problems cost-effectively such as supporting the elderly in their communities; combating energy poverty; ensuring that people who are particularly vulnerable to being unemployed get and keep, jobs; providing social housing in challenging circumstances; enabling digital inclusion for all, and providing alternatives to detention for migrants.
Scaling Plans
Scaling plans have been developed for the 7 selected innovations and can be viewed on the ESCF website.
