Cuireann Ógtheagmháil deiseanna in oideachas bunúsach, forbairt phearsanta, oiliúint ghairmiúil agus taithí oibre ar fáil do rannpháirtithe. Díríonn an clár ar phátrún foghlama ar feadh an tsaoil a leabú agus rannpháirtithe a lánpháirtiú i ndeiseanna breise oideachais agus oiliúna agus sa mhargadh saothair. Díríonn an clár freisin ar dhul i ngleic leis an ionchuimsiú sóisialta ar bhonn níos leithne. Bíonn cáilíochtaí ag leibhéil a 3 agus 4 ar an gCreat Náisiúnta Cáilíochta le bronnadh de ghnáth ón gclár.
