The Government of Ireland today approved Ireland’s European Social Fund Plus programme for the 2021 to 2027 period. The Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training Programme, EIST for short, involves a total investment of over €1.08 billion; €508 million from the EU and €573 million from the Government of Ireland.
The funding will be used throughout the country by Government Departments and agencies to support a wide range of initiatives including training to upskill and reskill, lifelong learning, social inclusion and social innovation, with an emphasis on disadvantaged and most at-need groups.
