The Deputy Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL), Ms Andriana Sukova, visited Ireland on 21 and 22 March. As part of her visit, Ms Sukova was welcomed by Priory Youthreach for a tour of their centre. Ms Sukova was accompanied by colleagues from DG EMPL and by representatives of the ESF+ Managing Authority and of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire ETB.
Youthreach gives early school leavers opportunities for education, personal development, vocational training and work experience, in a safe and supportive environment. Youthreach is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.
As part of her visit to Priory Youthreach, Ms Sukova met with staff of the centre and with current and past learners and got to hear about the work Youthreach does and the positive impact it has on learners.
The ESF+ EIST Programme 2021-2027 will see an additional investment of almost €197 million in Youthreach with the aim of supporting over 10,000 young people.
